Great news for anyone interested in Eco Fashion as the terms “Ethical Fashion” and “Sustainable Fashion” are moving into mainstream. Both terms are on the Top Fashion 20 Buzzword of 2012. “Ethical Fashion” at #19 and “Sustainable Fashion” at #20 to be exact.
The list is put together by The Global Language Monitor. For Their Fifth Annual Analysis, they used NarrativeTracker 2.0. NT2.0 is based on global discourse, providing a real-time, accurate picture of what the public is saying about any topic, at any point in time. NarrativeTracker analyzes the Internet, blogosphere, the top 75,000 print and electronic global media, as well as new media sources, as they emerge.
What else is on the list you might ask? #1 is “The Duchess Effect” (ie: The positive economic impact of Kate Middleton’s fashion choices, derived from her new title, ‘the Duchess of Cambridge’), #4 “Pyjamas”, #10 “Novelty Denims” (oh so 80s!), #16,17 & 18 Vintage Style. Still making waves “Pippa’s Bum” is at #5.
Now here is a partnership that would certainly boost sustainable fashion: The Duchess of Cambridge and Pippa’s Bum taking on Livia Firth’s 2012 Green Carpet Challenge . . .
